The bookmark is made from natural 3 mm plywood, with dark laser-engraved detailing and a deep forest-green tassel.

We engrave the personalisation supplied with your order. We do not automatically send design proofs or previews before engraving.

The selected bird artwork remains the established design for that option; personalisation changes the requested wording, not the entire bird illustration.

HANDCRAFTED FROM GENUINE SOLID OAK

Every oak box is individually made from raw solid oak timber in our UK workshop.

We do not use MDF, plywood box shells, ready-made wooden blanks or mass-produced preassembled boxes.

Our making process includes carefully selecting and preparing the oak, CNC-machining the separate solid oak lid and base, creating the internal recesses and precise hardware positions, laser-engraving your chosen design and personalisation, fitting the hardware, hand-sanding, applying a suitable wood wax/oil finish and carefully hand-polishing the finished piece.

The result is a substantial, naturally beautiful wooden box, with softly rounded corners, visible oak grain and a smooth, carefully finished surface.

AUTHENTIC BOX CONSTRUCTION

- Soft beige felt fitted to the floor of the lower compartment only.

- Two small concealed 8 mm brass barrel hinges at the rear.

- One centrally positioned magnetic closure pair at the front.

- Smoothly rounded external edges.

- Carefully hand-sanded and hand-polished natural finish.

The box has one open interior compartment without dividers.

COORDINATING WOODEN BIRD BOOKMARK

The Complete Gift Set includes a handmade decorative bookmark inspired by your chosen bird design.

Each bookmark is individually laser-cut from 3 mm natural plywood, with a personalised elongated section and an ornamental bird-inspired silhouette.

Its detailed engraving and carefully shaped decorative end give it a distinctive character, while the deep forest-green tassel provides a classic finishing touch.

The bookmark is designed to fit inside the oak box and to coordinate beautifully with the matching pen and keepsake box.

Because the bookmark is made from natural plywood, its grain, colour, laser-darkened edges and other wood characteristics may vary slightly.

The bookmark is a delicate decorative wooden item and should be handled with care. Avoid bending or forcing intricate cut-out sections.

NATURAL OAK & HANDMADE CHARACTERISTICS

Real solid oak is a natural material, and every piece has its own individual character.

Differences in grain pattern, colour, tone, texture and natural markings are expected and make each box unique.

Depending on the individual piece of timber, natural characteristics may include knots, open or fallen knots, small cavities or voids, pinholes, resin pockets, fine surface cracks or checks, and other naturally occurring features.

As each box is individually machined, assembled and hand-finished, subtle sanding marks, routing or tool marks, small dents, traces of finishing product, minor joinery variations and slight differences in dimensions or finish may also be present.

Wood naturally responds to changes in temperature and humidity, and small amounts of movement can occur over time.

These characteristics are part of genuine timber and handmade craftsmanship rather than the uniform appearance of factory-produced materials.

Fresh wood and finishing scent

Your box may have a noticeable fresh timber, wood wax or finishing-product scent when first opened.

This is normal for a newly made and finished wooden item. The scent gradually fades with time and gentle airing.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Keep your oak box in a dry indoor environment, away from excessive moisture, strong heat, prolonged direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes.

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid soaking the wood, harsh cleaning chemicals and abrasive products.

Do not force the lid or place excessive pressure on the hinges.

Handle the decorative plywood bookmark carefully, especially around intricate laser-cut sections.

The wooden box, pen and bookmark are decorative and functional gift items, not toys. Small fittings and delicate parts should be kept away from young children.

The estimated preparation and delivery information shown at checkout applies to your order. Please allow sufficient time for handmade production, personalisation, finishing and dispatch.

Orders are carefully packaged for their journey.

Where Royal Mail Tracked 24 is used, this refers to the delivery service after dispatch and is not a guarantee of next-day arrival.

International delivery is available only to destinations enabled at checkout. Customs charges, import taxes or local duties may apply depending on the destination and are the buyer’s responsibility where applicable.

Because this product is made to your personal specifications, change-of-mind returns or cancellations may be restricted in accordance with our shop policies and applicable law. This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty or not as described.
