A personalised solid pine gift and keepsake box, individually CNC machined and hand finished in my UK workshop.
Ideal for presenting money, jewellery or another small gift for a wedding, anniversary, engagement, birthday or other special occasion.
This is not a ready-made wooden blank.
The main body is CNC routed from solid pine timber to create the internal compartment, while the matching lid is prepared separately from solid wood.
Each component is then carefully sanded, refined, engraved, stained and finished by hand before the hinges, clasp and beige felt lining are fitted.

The base of the internal compartment is lined with beige felt as standard.
The box is supplied empty.

HOW IT IS MADE
The process begins with solid pine timber.
The machining programme is prepared and the timber is measured and securely positioned before the internal cavity is CNC routed from the solid wood.
The lid is prepared separately.
The components are then laser engraved, carefully sanded and refined by hand.
Small areas are finished manually with appropriate hand tools and files where required.
Your chosen stain is applied by hand before the hinges and clasp are fitted.
The wood is then protected with wax or finishing oil and hand polished.
Finally, the beige felt lining is fitted and the completed box is inspected before packing.
NATURAL WOOD & HANDMADE CHARACTERISTICS
Solid timber is naturally individual.
Grain pattern, growth rings, colour, density and texture will vary from piece to piece.
Natural characteristics can include knots, partially open knots, occasional knot holes, small holes or pinholes, natural voids, resin or sap pockets, tiny depressions and small natural cracks or checking.
Some natural characteristics cannot simply be sanded away without changing or damaging the surrounding timber.
Stain is also absorbed differently across natural wood, so areas of the finished box can vary slightly in shade.
Engraving may appear slightly darker, lighter or deeper depending on the timber grain and density.
Because the box is individually machined and hand finished, subtle handmade traces may also occur, including slight differences in measurements or alignment, tiny tool marks, sanding or routing traces and minor signs of polishing or workshop handling.
These characteristics are part of genuine solid wood and handmade production.
FRESH WOOD & FINISH SCENT
The box is freshly manufactured and finished before dispatch.
When first opened, you may notice the scent of fresh pine together with the stain, wax or finishing oil used during production.
Finished pieces are aired before packing, but completely eliminating this natural fresh-workshop scent would require considerably longer airing.
The scent is normal and will gradually soften.
Simply leave the box open in a dry, well-ventilated room after delivery.
Natural timber may also move very slightly in response to changes in temperature and humidity.
DELIVERY
UK orders are sent using Royal Mail 24 Tracked after dispatch.
International orders are sent using a tracked delivery service.
The dispatch date is controlled by Artful Craftsmead. Delivery times after dispatch depend on the postal or courier network.
