PERSONALISED SOLID WOOD MONEY & KEEPSAKE BOX

A handcrafted solid pine money and keepsake box designed as a meaningful gift for a couple celebrating an engagement, wedding, anniversary or another special chapter together.

Use it to save towards a honeymoon, holiday, new home, future plans or another shared goal.

Once the savings have been used, the box can continue to be enjoyed as a personalised keepsake box for photographs, letters, small cards and meaningful memories.

This is not a ready-made wooden box with engraving simply added afterwards.

Each box is individually made from solid timber in my workshop from the beginning.

MONEY & SAVINGS SLOT

The lid includes a slot designed for adding money, notes and other small items without needing to open the box each time.

This makes the box ideal for saving gradually towards a shared goal or for presenting money as part of a personalised gift.

Please note that this is primarily a money and keepsake box rather than a large event card collection box.

The size of cards and envelopes varies, so please check the box dimensions if you intend to use it for anything larger than money, notes, vouchers or small cards.

BLACK FELT INTERIOR

The base is finished with black felt.

This gives the interior a clean, finished appearance and makes the box suitable for storing money, letters, photographs and other sentimental keepsakes after the original savings purpose has ended.

HANDCRAFTED FROM SOLID TIMBER

────────────────────────

This is not a commercially purchased unfinished box.

Each box is individually made from solid pine in my workshop.

The making process includes:

• Selecting and cutting the timber

• Assembling and gluing the box

• Clamping the construction

• Sanding

• Creating narrow corner reinforcement cuts

• Inserting hardwood reinforcement wedges

• Separating the lid from the completed box construction

• Routing and preparing the edges where required

• Creating the money and savings slot

• Preparing the personalised engraving

• Laser engraving

• Sanding and refining the engraved areas

• Hand applying the selected wood stain

• Fitting the hinges

• Fitting the two front clasps

• Fitting the black felt interior

• Applying protective finishing wax

• Final hand polishing

• Final inspection before packing

Hardwood used for the corner reinforcement wedges may naturally vary in timber species, grain and colour.

WOOD STAIN OPTIONS

Every piece of natural timber absorbs stain differently.

The same stain may therefore appear slightly lighter, darker or warmer depending on the individual piece of wood, grain direction, knots, density and natural resin content.

NATURAL WOOD & HANDMADE CHARACTERISTICS

Solid wood is a natural material and every box is unique.

No two pieces of pine will have exactly the same grain, colour, knots or natural markings.

Natural characteristics may include:

• Visible grain patterns and growth rings

• Lighter and darker areas

• Solid knots

• Partially open knots

• Fallen knots or small knot holes

• Natural voids and cavities

• Pinholes

• Resin or sap pockets

• Small surface depressions

• Fine natural cracks, splits or checks

• Differences in timber texture and density

Some natural holes or voids cannot be completely removed through sanding without unnecessarily altering or damaging the surrounding timber.

Different areas of the same piece of wood may also absorb stain differently.

Laser engraving can naturally vary slightly in shade and depth depending on grain direction, knots, resin content and timber density.

HANDMADE CHARACTER

Because every box is individually cut, assembled, reinforced, sanded, routed, engraved, stained, fitted, waxed and hand polished, small traces of the making process may occasionally remain visible.

These may include:

• Subtle glue traces

• Light sanding marks

• Minor routing or tool marks

• Tiny dents

• Small polishing or wax traces

• Minor signs of workshop handling

• Slight differences in joints

• Small alignment variations

• Subtle differences around routed edges

• Slight dimensional variation

• Natural variation in the hardwood corner wedges

These are normal characteristics of genuine handmade solid wood products rather than mass-produced factory items.

FRESH WOOD & FINISH SCENT

────────────────────────

Each box is freshly handcrafted, stained, waxed and hand polished shortly before dispatch.

When first opened, you may notice a natural scent of fresh timber combined with wood stain and finishing wax.

This is normal for a newly handcrafted solid wood product and is not a defect.

After unpacking, leave the box open in a dry, well-ventilated room.

The natural scent will gradually soften and reduce over time.

REAL WOOD AFTER DELIVERY

Solid timber naturally reacts to changes in temperature and humidity.

Very small movement, expansion or contraction can therefore occur over time.

This is normal behaviour for genuine solid wood.

CARE

For indoor use.

Keep the box dry and avoid prolonged moisture, excessive humidity, strong direct heat and prolonged strong sunlight.

Dust or polish gently using a soft dry cloth.

UK orders are sent using Royal Mail 24 Tracked after dispatch.

International orders are sent using a tracked service.

The dispatch date is the date your order leaves my workshop.

Delivery times after dispatch are controlled by the postal or courier service and cannot be guaranteed.

Please ensure the delivery address supplied with your order is correct.
