A DISTINCTIVE RAISED WOODEN ORNAMENT

The beautiful decorative frame on the lid is one of the defining features of this box.

Unlike a simple flat engraving, the ornament is separately laser-cut from plywood, carefully engraved and attached to the solid pine lid, creating an elegant layered effect.

Its intricate openwork heart-pattern border gives the box a delicate, decorative appearance while the solid pine construction provides its authentic handmade character.

All four designs feature exactly the same ornament shape. Only the engraved artwork and personalised arrangement within the ornament change.

HANDCRAFTED FROM SCRATCH – NOT A READY-MADE BOX

Every Artful Craftsmead wooden jewellery box begins with carefully selected raw solid pine timber.

We prepare and cut the wooden components individually before constructing and assembling the box and its hinged lid in our UK workshop.

The production process includes:

- Selecting, preparing and cutting the solid pine timber.

- Assembling and securing the wooden box and lid.

- Carefully preparing the edges and hand sanding the wooden surfaces.

- Laser-cutting the intricate decorative ornament from plywood.

- Engraving the selected artwork and personalisation.

- Carefully attaching the ornament to the lid.

- Preparing and installing the thin, strong plywood dividers.

- Fitting soft felt to the base of the compartments.

- Applying your chosen wood stain to enhance the natural timber grain.

- Completing the protective finishing process with wax and hand polishing.

- Fitting and checking the metal hinges and clasp.

- Inspecting the finished product before dispatch.

Our jewellery boxes are not manufactured from mass-produced blanks or MDF.

Every box is individually constructed and finished with genuine attention to detail.

FOUR PRACTICAL JEWELLERY COMPARTMENTS

The interior is divided into four sections using thin, strong plywood dividers.

Each compartment has a soft felt-lined base, creating an attractive and gentle surface for storing smaller items.

NATURAL WOOD & HANDMADE CHARACTERISTICS

Every piece of genuine solid pine has its own unique character.

Natural variations in grain, colour, growth rings, knots and timber markings are expected features of real wood.

Wood stain absorbs differently across individual pieces of timber, meaning the final colour and grain appearance may vary slightly from the photographs.

The colour and depth of laser engraving can also vary naturally depending on the plywood surface and grain.

The decorative ornament and internal dividers are intentionally made from plywood because this material provides the thin, precise and strong components required for their purpose.

Small differences in handmade construction, finishing and positioning may occur.

These natural and handcrafted characteristics are part of each box's individuality and are not manufacturing defects.

FRESH WOOD & FINISH SCENT

As your jewellery box is freshly constructed, stained and finished before dispatch, you may notice a natural scent of timber combined with wood stain and finishing wax when first unpacking it.

This is normal for a newly handmade solid wood product and is not a defect.

We recommend unpacking the box and leaving it open in a dry, well-ventilated room until the natural scent has faded before placing your jewellery and keepsakes inside.

CARE & SAFE USE

- Keep the jewellery box indoors in a dry environment.

- Avoid excessive moisture, direct water contact and high humidity.

- Keep away from radiators, strong heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

- Wipe the wooden surfaces gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

- Keep the felt interior clean and dry.

- Handle the delicate decorative openwork ornament with care.

- Open and close the hinged lid gently.

- Take care to prevent jewellery chains from becoming caught in the dividers or clasp.

Solid wood naturally responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Appropriate care will help preserve the finish and appearance of your box.

We create the personalised engraving using the details supplied by the customer.

If the requested text is too long for the available area or requires clarification, we may contact you before proceeding.

Digital previews are not automatically provided with every order.

If you would like a preview of your personalisation, please request this before production begins.

Where a preview has been arranged, please check all details carefully and respond promptly with your approval.

Delays in receiving the required information or approval may affect the production schedule.

Once engraving or construction has begun, changes may no longer be possible.

MADE TO ORDER, DELIVERY & RETURNS

Each box is individually made to order in our UK workshop.

Current estimated production time: approximately 2–3 weeks.

This allows time for timber preparation, construction, decorative laser cutting, engraving, sanding, staining, fitting the internal compartments, finishing and final quality checks.

Delivery time is additional to the production period.

Available delivery services, charges and estimated delivery dates are displayed at checkout.

As this item is made to the customer's personal specifications, change-of-mind cancellations and returns may be restricted where permitted by applicable law.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, please contact us so that we can resolve the issue. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
