This spacious wooden memory chest is made from raw timber, individually assembled, engraved, hand sanded, stained, waxed and polished. Add the graduate's name and graduation year, choose from four distinctive designs and create a lasting place for the memories behind their achievement.

FOUR GRADUATION DESIGNS

1. HERITAGE GRADUATE – OUR ORIGINAL DESIGN

A traditional graduation composition featuring a mortarboard, quill pen and laurel details with the celebratory wording “Congrats Grad”, the graduate's name and their graduation year. Our original engraved artwork remains the foundation of this option.

Example: Congrats Grad – Oliver Williams – 2026.

2. MODERN MINIMAL

A beautifully understated design with the graduate's name as the main feature, a small “GRADUATE” inscription, a fine dividing line and the graduation year. No mortarboard, flowers, stars or unnecessary decoration – just elegant lettering on real wood.

Example: OLIVIA CARTER – GRADUATE – 2026.

3. ACADEMIC LAURELS

A more formal academic design combining an elegant laurel wreath, a subtle graduation cap, the graduate's name and year. An optional university, college or course name may be incorporated where the wording and space allow.

Example: JAMES WILLIAMS – CLASS OF 2026 – UNIVERSITY GRADUATE.

4. THE NEXT CHAPTER

A symbolic design featuring an open book, a gentle upward path and delicate stars, together with the phrase “The Next Chapter Begins”, the graduate's name and year.

Example: EMILY – CLASS OF 2026 – THE NEXT CHAPTER BEGINS.

The construction, dimensions and fittings are the same for all four designs. Only the engraved composition and personalised wording change. The photographs show examples of how the artwork may be personalised; individual names and wording may require minor layout adjustments. The fixed illustrative elements of a selected design are not automatically changed by font preferences or custom wording.

PERSONALISATION – MADE FOR YOUR GRADUATE

• Choose your preferred Design Style and Wood Stain from the listing variations.

• Enter the graduate's name exactly as it should appear on the lid.

• Enter the graduation year exactly as required.

• Optional: supply a university, college or course name. This is particularly suitable for Academic Laurels; we will contact you if a requested line cannot fit legibly within your selected layout.

• Optional: enter an inside-lid dedication, including who the message is from, if you would like the separate wooden graduation-cap decoration.

Custom wording, names, dates, spelling, punctuation and capitalisation are engraved exactly as supplied. Please check all information carefully before placing your order. We do not automatically correct, rewrite or translate customers' own text. If a requested detail is unclear or too long for the available space, we may contact you before engraving.

OPTIONAL INSIDE-LID MESSAGE – WOODEN GRADUATION CAP

For a more personal finishing touch, you can request a dedication inside the lid. When you provide an inside-lid message, we laser-cut a separate wooden graduation-cap-shaped decoration, engrave your words onto it and carefully fit it inside the lid. It is a meaningful way to celebrate the graduate's achievement with words from parents, grandparents, family or friends.

“Congratulations on your graduation, Oliver! We are so proud of all your hard work and determination. May this be the beginning of wonderful new opportunities. With love, Mum & Dad.”

IMPORTANT: THE WOODEN GRADUATION-CAP DECORATION IS OPTIONAL.

It is made and fitted ONLY when an inside-lid dedication is requested. If you leave the Inside Lid Message field blank, your box will have no separate wooden graduation cap and no inside-lid message. Images showing an inside dedication demonstrate this optional feature and do not mean it is automatically included.

Long dedications may require smaller lettering or a simplified layout. For the best legibility, please keep the message reasonably concise. If your wording cannot be engraved clearly within the available area, we will discuss a suitable adjustment with you before proceeding.

HANDMADE FROM RAW SOLID PINE – NOT A READY-MADE BOX

Your box is made from scratch in our UK workshop, not purchased as a finished blank for quick engraving. We begin by measuring, preparing and cutting raw solid pine timber. The box body and separate lid are assembled in-house using traditional woodworking techniques, with carefully worked joints and reinforcing details. Corners may feature small hardwood wedges; the type and appearance of the hardwood can vary. Wooden panel components and construction details are prepared as required for the design.

Once the structure is assembled, we prepare the surfaces and edges, engrave the chosen design, and carefully hand sand the timber. The selected stain is applied to bring out the natural grain. After suitable drying, we finish the piece with protective finishing wax, which may include beeswax, and polish it by hand. Hinges and a decorative metal clasp are fitted, checked and adjusted before packing.

Every box takes time, individual attention and hands-on work. It is not MDF, not a thin mass-produced gift blank and not factory-assembled for us.

A SPACIOUS BOX FOR GRADUATION MEMORIES

The box provides one open main storage area for treasured items such as photographs, greeting cards, personal notes, letters, small graduation mementoes, medals, a tassel and other small keepsakes. Contents can be arranged freely according to the recipient's needs.

These are approximate measurements, as each item is handmade. Internal dimensions are smaller due to the thickness of the timber walls, base and lid. Please measure your items before ordering. In particular, do not assume an A4 certificate or diploma will lie flat inside; standard A4 paper is larger than the available interior footprint. Rolled or folded items should only be stored that way if appropriate for the document.

WOOD STAIN FINISHES

Choose from the current wood stain options shown in the variations and colour chart: Pine – Light, Light Oak, Medium Oak, Walnut, Brown Mahogany, Dark Teak and Ebony. Availability is determined by the choices displayed at checkout.

Real solid pine has its own grain and colouring, so stain can absorb differently from one piece to another and even across a single panel. The shade shown in photographs can also vary with lighting and screen settings. We use real wood and our offered wood stains; we do not promise the exact colour of a digital mock-up.

NATURAL WOOD & HANDMADE CHARACTERISTICS – PLEASE READ

Your keepsake box is genuinely handcrafted from natural timber. Each piece is individual and may show different grain directions, growth rings, changes in colour, knots (including open or fallen knots), small voids and cavities, tiny pinholes, resin pockets, minor natural cracks or checks, and subtle differences in texture.

Handmade construction may also produce small differences in joints and alignment, corners, hardwood wedges, routing and tool marks, traces of sanding, tiny dents, small glue or wax traces, and slight variations from the approximate dimensions. Laser engraving colour and depth of visual contrast can vary with the grain, resin and density of individual areas of wood. Wood may expand or contract slightly with changes in temperature and humidity.

These are normal characteristics of natural solid wood and individually handmade work, not evidence that every box should look identical to a photographed example. However, actual damage, faulty fittings or defective workmanship are not considered acceptable natural characteristics.

FRESH WOOD & FINISH SCENT

Because your box is freshly made, stained and wax-finished, you may notice the natural scent of timber together with wood stain and finishing wax when it is first opened. This is normal and not a defect. Unpack the box and allow it to air in a dry, well-ventilated room until the initial scent fades before placing scent-sensitive or delicate keepsakes inside.

CARE & SAFE USE

• Keep indoors in a dry, stable environment, away from water, excessive humidity and prolonged strong sunlight.

• Keep away from radiators, fireplaces and other direct heat sources.

• Dust with a soft, dry cloth; do not use abrasives, solvents or harsh chemical cleaners.

• Do not store wet or damp items inside.

• Handle the lid, hinges and clasp gently; do not force them or lift a loaded box by its lid.

• Avoid placing excessive weight on the lid.

• This is a decorative keepsake storage chest, not a toy or a security safe. The clasp is decorative rather than a secure lock. Keep small items and fittings away from young children.

HOW TO ORDER

1. Select your preferred Wood Stain.
2. Choose one of our four Design Styles: Heritage Graduate, Modern Minimal, Academic Laurels or The Next Chapter.
3. Enter the graduate's name exactly as it should appear.
4. Enter the graduation year.
5. If required, add the university, college or course.
6. If you would like an engraved dedication inside the lid, enter your complete message, including who it is from, in the Inside Lid Message field.

Important: The personalised wooden graduation cap inside the lid is optional. It is made and fitted only when you request an inside-lid message. If the field is left blank, no wooden cap decoration will be included.

Please check all personalisation details carefully before completing your order. Your wording will be engraved exactly as supplied, subject to any agreed layout adjustments. Digital previews are not automatically provided.

PRODUCTION, SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Each graduation keepsake box is individually made to order in our workshop. Please refer to the processing time and estimated dispatch information displayed in the Etsy listing and at checkout, and order in good time for a specific graduation ceremony or celebration.

UK parcels are sent using our selected Royal Mail Tracked service after dispatch; international orders, where available, are sent using tracked services. A dispatch date is not a guaranteed delivery date. Carrier delays, bank holidays and customs processing can affect arrival times. We dispatch to the delivery address provided with the order, so please check it carefully. Delivery charges and available destinations are shown at checkout. Import fees or taxes may apply according to the destination and checkout arrangements.

RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS & HELP

This is a made-to-order personalised item produced using your chosen design and specific engraving details. Statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights may not apply to genuinely personalised goods where the applicable law provides an exception. Please contact us promptly if you need to request changes or cancellation before production starts; once work has begun, changes may not be possible.

If your box arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, please contact us through Etsy so we can investigate and put things right. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
