Genuine Solid Oak – Handcrafted From Scratch

Every jewellery box begins with carefully selected solid oak timber.

We create the box from two separate solid oak components: the lower section and the matching upper lid.

Both sections are individually CNC-machined to form the recessed interiors, including the required positions for the concealed hinges and magnetic closure.

Our detailed workshop process includes:

1. Selecting genuine solid oak timber with its own natural grain and character.

2. Measuring, cutting and preparing the timber to the required size.

3. Preparing the CNC design and machining programme.

4. CNC machining the separate lower section and upper lid, including the recessed interiors and fitting positions for hinges and magnets.

5. Laser engraving the chosen personalised design onto the outer lid.

6. Laser engraving the optional personal message inside the lid.

7. Carefully sanding and refining the machined wooden surfaces.

8. Joining the two wooden components by fitting the concealed internal hinges.

9. Installing the magnetic closure.

10. Applying a protective wood wax or oil finish.

11. Hand polishing the wooden surfaces.

12. Fitting the black felt lining to the lower interior base.

13. Completing the final inspection and carefully packing the finished box for dispatch.

Each box is individually produced and finished in our UK workshop.

We do not simply personalise mass-produced, ready-made wooden boxes.

All measurements are approximate and may vary slightly due to the natural characteristics of solid oak and the handmade manufacturing process.

The internal usable width and length are smaller than the external measurements because of the solid oak construction.

Please check the dimensions carefully before ordering if you intend to store a particular piece of jewellery or keepsake.

Natural Solid Oak & Handmade Characteristics

Every box is made from genuine natural solid oak.

Wood is an organic material, and each piece has its own individual appearance, grain pattern and characteristics.

Natural features and handmade variations may include:

- Differences in wood grain, growth rings and grain direction

- Natural variations in colour, tone and timber density

- Knots, partially open knots, occasional knot holes or natural cavities

- Small voids, pinholes, resin or sap-related characteristics and natural depressions

- Fine natural cracks, checks or small splits

- Differences in the absorption of wax, oil and other finishing products

- Variations in laser engraving colour, depth and contrast due to grain, density and natural wood characteristics

- Minor sanding, routing and CNC machining marks

- Small workshop handling marks or tiny surface dents

- Occasional traces of wax, oil or polishing products

- Slight variations in the alignment or meeting edges of the two wooden components

- Minor differences in finished measurements

- Natural timber movement caused by temperature and humidity changes

These characteristics reflect the authenticity of genuine solid timber and individual handmade craftsmanship.

They are not the same as the perfectly uniform appearance of synthetic or mass-produced materials.

Every product is carefully checked before dispatch while retaining the natural character of the oak.

Fresh Wood & Finish Scent

As your box is newly handcrafted and finished, you may notice a natural scent of fresh timber, wood wax, oil or other finishing products when first opening it.

This is normal for a recently finished wooden product and is not a manufacturing defect.

The scent will gradually reduce after unpacking and natural airing.

If preferred, leave the box open in a dry, well-ventilated room for approximately 24–48 hours before use.

Care Instructions

To preserve the natural beauty of your solid oak jewellery box:

- Keep indoors in a dry environment.

- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture.

- Do not place directly beside radiators or other heat sources.

- Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.

- Do not soak or immerse in water.

- Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents and abrasive cleaning products.

- Avoid scratching the finished wooden surfaces with sharp objects.

- Do not force the lid or concealed hinges beyond their natural opening position.

- Allow for minor seasonal timber movement caused by temperature and humidity.

As this is a personalised, made-to-order item, returns for a change of mind are not accepted, subject to applicable consumer rights.

Carefully Packed & Tracked Shipping

Each completed jewellery box is carefully inspected and packed to help protect it during transit.

UK orders are dispatched using Royal Mail Tracked 24 after completion.

International orders, where available, are dispatched using a tracked delivery service.
